Concert Details

Live Bands - All bands for this years concert have graciously donated their time to play a set of music.
The music starts at 3:30pm on Saturday and continues until 10 pm. Then on Sunday music resumes at noon and runs all day until 9pm. Each band will have 30 minutes to do their set with 15 minutes change over time between bands. With at least 20 bands scheduled the variety of music styles will be quite large.

Most Popular Band Contest
- Here's a fun way to raise money for MS! Since the bands are donating there time let's show some support by voting for your favorite band. It is $1.00 per vote, you can vote/donate as much as you want for your favorite band and yes bands can vote for themselves.
Voting will close at 8:30 pm on Sunday so the winner can be announced before 9pm.

At the end of the 2 day concert the band with the most money wins the coveted
"Tegeler Music Benefit Concert Most Popular Band Trophy"

Along with the trophy the winning band will have bragging rights for an entire year and that band will also be posted on a permanent plaque at Tegeler Music for all customers to see.

When you get to the concert look for the band voting containers and vote for your favorite band until your wallet hurts...... it all goes to a good cause you know!

PLEASE SUPPORT THESE SPONSORS

2012 Sponsors
I wanted to let everyone know who has stepped up to help sponsor the event...
These folks have donated either cash or products and services valued at just over $2000.00 so far to make sure as much of the cost of putting on the concert is covered. The goal is to get all the costs of the concert covered before the first song is played. That way donations made at the concert will all go directly to helping MS Victims instead of paying for things like porta-pots and police.
Please do business with these folks, they are helping make this event happen and they can only afford to do this if we support them by taking our business to them.

The story behind the Benefit Concert

In the summer of 2011 my wife Marcia found out that her sister Lori had been diagnosed with MS. Of course this came as a real shock to our whole family and I'm sure we reacted the way most people do when they hear news like this. For me the first thing I felt was concern for Lori and of course immediately after that I felt upset that this had to happen to her. She truly is one of the kindest, most friendly people you would ever want to meet and for this to happen to her just seemed to be amazingly unfair.
Once I got over the initial reaction of the news I felt determined to figure out a way that we could help.

Of course Marcia was even more upset than I was so I told her that we needed to get involved in the fund raising efforts to help those who are helping the victims of these debilitating diseases.
Since Labor Day was just around the corner we decided to use that holiday weekend to take part in some kind of fund raising effort.

Our first thought was to have a Labor Day tent sale in the parking lot of Tegeler Music and to donate a portion of the proceeds of that days sales but after further discussion it was Marcia who convinced me to rent the Riverview Park Bandshell and turn the event into a benefit concert. By having a concert we would be able to both have a means to raise money and support live music in the area at the same time.

The goal from that point was to hold a concert once a year in the effort to raise money for a worthwhile charity. Even though right now, because of Marcia's sister, our focus is on helping with nerological related diseases we both agreed that eventually the charities we help would change from year to year. We realized that there were many organizations locally that do some wonderful work to help our community and it would mean a lot to both of us to help support those organizations as well..

Marcia and I are both hoping that the benefit concert will become a popular annual event where we can do our part to keep the art of live music strong in our community and raise money for some folks that need help as well.

Non-Profit Organizations that would like to be involved in future concerts are welcome to contact Marcia or myself here at Tegeler Music.
