On board Storage : Take care to pay attention to the type of storage that you have if purchasing a keyboard with sequencing or sampling capabilities. Historically speaking floppy disks had been used for removable data storage but now there are a number of other options available including Smart Media or SD cards and USB memory sticks in fact the most popular way to store your data these days is a direct USB connection to your computer. With a direct connection you can now use your computers' hard drive to store all of your audio and MIDI data with an almost limitless amount of storage. The only down side to using your computer for storage is portability. Unless you don't mind carrying a laptop around with you it's still a wise move to have some sort of memory card capabilities when you're at the gig. It still amazes me how much memory you can get in such small packages.
